Whats a low temperature adapter?
I just bought an Acu-Rite wireless weather station (model 00592w) that tells me the outdoor and indoor temperature and humidity levels. It came with a wire that plugs into the side of the outdoor wireless sensor and it says on the front of the manual that its a "low temperature adapter" and i don't exactly know what it does and if it's necessary to plug into the outdoor sensor. The wire is about 12 feet long and it has a probe at the end. If anyone can at least tell me what it does because the manual says NOTHING about it. Please help!
Some of these temperature sensors will stop working in very cold weather...or may even be damaged by extremely cold weather. Exactly how cold will depend on the instrument. If you are expecting very cold temperatures, you may want to take the remote sensor inside or into some type of shelter that will keep it warmer during the period of time and connect the wired sensor probe into the remote. Then put sensor probe outside so that it will continue to collect temperate readings during this period of very cold temperatures.
I would try to contact Acu-Rite and see what at what temperature would recommend that you should bring the remote inside and just use the wired sensor probe.

In response to the answer given by drsandradeepsb, I just checked the two links given by drsandradeepsb and this was what I found.
First link goes to a web site that explains the use of "a low temperature adapter that is used for Infrared Aiming Light atached to MOUNTING BRACKET of a M72 ROCKET LAUNCHER..
Second link goes to a question and answer web site where somebody posted a question about an Acu-Rite clock radio that included a low temperature sensor. As far as I can tell, nobody posted a reply answer to this question.
